   Screening is Key

The best time for screening is when you feel that you are healthy.

Screening means examining individuals without symptoms in order to detect disease early or to identify those with an increased risk of disease.

   Human Papillomavirus

The Human Papillomavirus, 'HPV' in short, causes 95% of cervical cancers. They are common, but most are harmless.

14 types of the virus are considered to be "high-risk."

HPV-16 and HPV-18 are the two types that pose the greatest risk to causing cervical cancers.

This PCR test offered by Acumen Diagnostics screens for all 14 high-risk HPV viruses, following cervical cancer screening guidelines by the MOH Screen for Life campaign.

Types of HPV

There are more than 100 subtypes of human papillomaviruses.

Some cause anogenital warts; others cause cervical cancers.

"High-Risk HPV" types are those that increase risk of these diseases.
